The main public problems in Mexico and the United States of America right now are related with drug trafficking. While Mexico has been ranked top country in the world regarding organized crime, the US drug consumption is the main public health problem, killing more people than any war after WWII.
But the drugs business in Mexico, like the case of many industries in this country, is not a competititve market -for better or worse- but an oligopoly. Few druglords in the country run what is considered right now the most mortiferous business in the world. They have neither conscious nor soul.
It's amazing to think that only the arrest of two top druglords -the eldest son of "El chapo" as well as "El mayo" Zambada- have sent Mexico to the number three in organized crime; right from the top. That is the power these two criminals exercised. "El mayo" is the worst kind of scum.
It's imperative for our region to dismantle the drugs market in order for criminals to face justice. We need honest job opportunities and health for our youth, far from the entrenched claws of these criminals.
Mexico is far more than a death market that has cost the lives of millions of young Americans and Mexicans. Mexico is a land of hard working and honest people who struggle every day to give food to the table of their beloved. We do not want that a bunch of rotten apples define the image of our citizens. We want that the good and the justice prevail. We need to get rid of these soulless criminals that have covered in death and pain our land. We are more than willing to cooperate to make that happen.
